In this day and age there are a lot of different beer books coming out regularly from guide books, to cook books, to how to brew books. However, one upcoming publication has me extremely excited. The Complete Beer Course is a book by renowned beer writer and author Joshua M. Bernstein. Josh, is the author of Brewed Awakening which I thoroughly enjoyed. He has also written articles that have been published in the New York Times, Saveur, Time Out New York, Details, BonAppetit.com and Gourmet.com where he serves as the beer columnist. Furthermore, he is a contributing editor to beverage magazine Imbibe as well.
Now, that in and of itself is one heck of a resume of credibility but the other thing that has me excited is that i have been fortunate since he is from Brooklyn, NY to have drinks with him on more than one occasion where his knowledge and wisdom have enlightened me and helped me grow to be a more informed consumer of my favorite malted beverage, BEER. Josh is one of the few writers in the industry whose opinion matters to me and whose articles I look forward to reading.
The Complete Beer Course: Boot Camp for Beer Geeks: From Novice to Expert in Twelve Tasting Classes is bound to be an exciting and informative read that I can’t wait to get my hands on. Those who have been lucky enough to get a preview: Garrett Oliver, Jim Koch, Charlie Papazain among others are singing its praises and I am not surprised at all.
If you are an experienced beer connoisseur or a novice to the craftbeer game you will enjoy this book I am sure and learn a great deal from it. To pre-order from Amazon, click here.
For those in the Brooklyn area you can attend a release party at the Brooklyn Brewery on September 10, 2013 at 7:30 PM but you must get tickets in advanced, here.
I know I will be eagerly awaiting the release and you should too.
And that’s … From My Mellin!
